Hello and welcome to the official website of the Alpha Omicron chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at The Ohio State University! My name is Melina Kopczewski and I am the chapter president. Alpha Chi Omega is a group of Real, Strong Women who were first formed in 1885 and then established on Ohio State’s campus in September of 1923. Our philanthropy and dedication as an organization is to spread awareness and education of Domestic Violence, working with a local Franklin County domestic violence shelter, CHOICES. In the past few years, we have donated money to help them build a new and improved shelter to house survivors of domestic violence.

 

As president of an organization of 200+ women, I can say confidently that joining Alpha Chi Omega has been one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences in my college career. I know that I can trust these women with anything, and they all truly push me to be the best version of myself, achieving things I never thought could be possible. I have found role models and friends who are my shoulders to cry on the worst days, my biggest cheerleaders on the best days, and the sources of all of my smiles on every day in between. I have grown as a student, friend, mentor, leader, and woman through their confidence in me, and this is seen in relationships that this chapter has provided to every sister within in.

 

Alpha Chi Omegas are found everywhere from shadowing lawmakers in Washington D.C., fulfilling life-long dreams of co-oping in Disney World, on federal scholarships learning Hindi in India, and interning with fortune 500 companies across the country. They serve as presidents of Ohio State student organizations, fitness instructors, University Ambassadors, Recruitment Hosts, members of the Homecoming Court, research assistants, and many more.

 

The five core values seen in every woman of Alpha Chi Omega are Character, Leadership Ability, Academic Interest, Personal Development, and Financial Responsibility. We pride ourselves on upholding these characteristics in all interactions and endeavors. We love unconditionally, volunteer frequently, laugh constantly, and pursue our goals every day, while never missing an opportunity to support women alongside the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega.
